In the spirit of celebrating Quantcast’s unique culture and the individuals that contribute to it, we profile outstanding Quantcast employees you should know in our Q Employee Spotlight. Meet Perri Hutchinson, Account Executive, in our San Francisco office!
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and double majored in public relations and advertising and communications studies at DePaul University in Chicago. I stayed in Chi-Town post-graduation to work for MediaMind. After realizing I had spent most of my life landlocked, I took an opportunity with Mode Media (fka Glam Media) to move to San Francisco. After some time at Brightroll/Yahoo, I landed at Quantcast as a client strategist for the Measure team.
Quantcast was a company that I had consistently heard of throughout my career, and I’ve worked with Quantcast to some degree. I remember at my first job some of my favorite people that I interacted with worked for Quantcast. When I was approached for the client strategist role, I was really excited to learn more about the publisher side of the business and to be a part of such an amazing team.
Me + Quantcast
There are two things that I love about coming to work every day: my team and the opportunity to solve problems. I work with some amazingly talented, kind and brilliant individuals. Their drive and dedication inspire me on a daily basis. A large part of my role on the sales team is helping publishers solve problems. I love working with my clients to build out a solution that helps them achieve their goals.
What I’m Working On
I started out at Quantcast as a client strategist. I was responsible for educating our existing publisher clients on the benefits of a Measure profile and helping their various teams incorporate our audience insights into their daily workflow. After we started building more client-facing tools, I became interested in becoming an account executive and forming relationships with new publishers. Now I work hand in hand with publisher leadership teams to construct an integration with Measure Enterprise that helps scale their direct sales team and win new brand dollars.
In the last year Erik Bortz and I have been working on the Diversity Leadership Group. Our mission is to bring together people of color and their allies at Quantcast. Last quarter we partnered with Project Night Night to assemble kits for homeless children in SF. This year we are focused on helping Quantcast enrich the diversity pipeline.
The Future of Q
I’m excited to see our Measure business scale and grow over the next few years. We’ve already gotten some great traction in the market, but we have some aggressive goals this year. The team has been heads down and working really hard. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish this year.
My Guiding Principle
My favorite Quantcast guiding principle is Velocity. I tend to focus on the details and making things perfect but sometimes you have to be lean. Trying to simplify and embrace the minimum viable way to deliver an outcome reminds me to focus on what’s important.
