Yesterday we wondered if the iPhone 4 would halt the decline in Apple’s share of mobile web consumption. We may have spoken too soon. Today we examine the monthly trend of smartphone vendor share and in doing so we break out the iPhone from the iPod. The recent results are quite striking.
Breaking out the iPod and iPhone, we can see that the iPhone has gained share recently while the iPod has lost a significant chunk of its share of mobile web consumption.
In a close race for 2nd place, HTC, Motorola and Blackberry are all battling it out. Motorola and HTC both have recent devices that are gaining share rapidly. Blackberry just announced their new flagship product, the Torch, we’ll soon see if this will help them gain web share.
