At Quantcast, we take consumer privacy very seriously. Privacy-by-design has been a core tenet of our product development philosophy since we were founded. Naturally, we were at the forefront of the advertising and publishing industry’s preparation for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with the launch of Quantcast Choice in May 2018.
Quantcast Choice has since gone on to be the most widely deployed consent management platform (CMP) using the IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework. This has provided publishers and advertisers worldwide with an important GDPR-compliance tool which can be set up within minutes. Quantcast is proud to partner with those same publishers and advertisers to continue to help deliver relevant advertising and content to the world’s online audience.
Since launch, we’ve continued to listen to our clients and develop Quantcast Choice based on the great feedback we’ve received. As part of that, I’m happy to announce that we’re rolling out new changes to Quantcast Choice in March to support Google products, including Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager. We know that a lot of our clients rely on Google products to run their businesses, and now Quantcast Choice will work alongside those tools.
From early March 2019, Quantcast Choice will enable website owners to obtain and transmit consent from their visitors to allow Google products to operate on their websites. Specifically, Quantcast Choice will support the following features for Google consent:
- Enable website owners to ask visitors to provide consent for Google products
- Display Google as a vendor in the CMP interface, to comply with Google’s requirements
- Create the signals necessary for website owners to transmit correctly to Google
- Provide support to website owners so that they can properly send consent information to Google, which allows the website to continue to use business critical Google products
Quantcast is committed to complying with the GDPR and helping our clients do the same. Quantcast Choice is specifically designed to work seamlessly with the Google products that are important for publishers and advertisers, from site functionality to monetization, and will automatically update with the Google consent options in early March.
