Last week we outlined the relative share of web consumption attributable to the manufacturers of mobile devices. A number of you asked how this translated into share for the various mobile operating systems. Well, the biggest player by far is Apple’s iPhone OS (from now on to be known as iOS), but the biggest winner is clearly Google’s Android.
Android continues to capture more share, and if the recent launch of the HTC Incredible on Verizon and Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G is anything to go by, Android will continue to rapidly gain share.
As we can see, in the past year Android has taken market share from all parts of the market, and noticeably so from Apple’s OS.
