Today, we made the exciting announcement that Permisio, our new privacy preferences portal designed for consumers and built for publishers, is now available for free to all publishers using Quantcast Choice that have UK traffic. Quantcast Choice customers can request to be an early adopter of Permisio here.

By providing an easy-to-use, centralized privacy preferences portal, Permisio simplifies privacy preference management for both consumers and the publishers whose sites they visit. The portal gives publishers the opportunity to embrace a known identity solution while prioritizing consumer privacy and experience and providing even more control over publishers’ first party data sets. All of this enables publishers to continue creating the important content the world relies on. We’re very grateful to all of our partners who shared their feedback as part of the development of Permisio, including our early adopters Immediate Media, Snack Media and Jungle Creations.

Since we unveiled Quantcast Choice in 2018, we’ve learned a great deal about how consumers engage with publishers in the context of new data protection and privacy legislation like GDPR and CCPA. Which types of sites see which types of consent for processing purposes? Which consumers in which countries around the world are more or less likely to give their consent? And finally, how many cookie pop-ups does the average internet user see on a daily basis? The answer to this last question is ‘a lot’.

Permisio improves the online browsing experience for consumers by greatly reducing the number of cookie pop-ups on Quantcast Choice’s web footprint. These constant pop-ups are needed in order for consumers to be informed about the way in which their personal data will be processed by the site they are visiting and its partners, as well as to express their preferences about how they wish for their data to be processed.

The introduction of Permisio is part of our wider initiative to develop an alternative to third party cookies by creating a long-lasting identity solution for the free and open internet and a more transparent and consent-driven advertising landscape. Helping publishers grow and thrive through a better understanding of their audience is in Quantcast’s DNA. The journey began with our very first product, Quantcast Measure, which helps publishers gain deeper insights into their audience for free to this day.
