Firefox gets a boost from browser choice in Europe

On March 1st 2010, Microsoft introduced a browser choice screen in Europe as part of a settlement with the European Commission. Coincidentally, March 1st, was the last day that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer held a majority share of web consumption in Europe.

Recent data suggests that Mozilla’s Firefox has seen the largest boost from the choice screen, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to see the full impact of the forced choice on Microsoft’s share.
