Today we’re looking at the global share of web consumption attributable to different browsers in January 2010. Specifically we’re focusing on desktop share (perhaps better defined as ‘non-mobile’, for more mobile stats see our recent Mobile Web Trends report).
In January Google’s Chrome surpassed Apple’s Safari for the first time to take the #3 spot. Apple still holds a slight lead when mobile iPhone browsing is factored in, but even mobile won’t save Apple’s spot for long.
Tomorrow we’ll dig deeper and examine the trends in desktop browser share over the past two years.
