Data-Center IP List Sharing

The Quantcast team has been working with Google and other industry leaders to share data-center IP addresses that drive high volumes of non-human traffic. While many companies have their own set of data-center IP addresses, each company’s list may have some differences due to methodology and source data. By pooling these data center IPs we can improve the effectiveness of blocking this type of non-human traffic across the industry.

We detect and block many different kinds of non-human traffic (NHT). This IP list identifies datacenter machines where there is no human using the machine, but where an automated program is browsing the web and requesting ads, which are never seen by a human. Going forward we will work to improve this IP list sharing. For additional information see this post.
