Quantcast Adds Advertising Industry Leader Mike Kelly to Board

New board member brings deep experience scaling high-growth organizations

April 3, 2014SAN FRANCISCO—April 3, 2014—Quantcast, a technology company specialized in real-time advertising and audience measurement, announced today that Mike Kelly, an accomplished executive, industry leader and expert on digital and cross-platform media and advertising, has joined the company’s board of directors.

Kelly previously served as CEO and president of The Weather Channel Companies from 2009 to 2012. During Kelly’s tenure, The Weather Channel Companies experienced record revenue and profits. Kelly also led the impressive growth of its total audience with the most pronounced growth coming from mobile, making The Weather Channel a top-five mobile company in the United States in traffic and revenue.

From 2004 to 2007, Kelly was the founding president of AOL Media Networks, where he was responsible for all of AOL’s advertising properties globally, the acquisition of Advertising.com and the company’s partnership with Google. While Kelly was at AOL, advertising and commerce revenue more than tripled to over $2.2 billion. Prior to AOL, Kelly was president of global marketing at Time Warner, where he worked with some of the world’s largest advertisers to develop and implement cross-platform marketing solutions.

Kelly is also an officer of the American Advertising Federation, and has served on the board and Executive Committee of The Advertising Council. Kelly’s experience spans both new and traditional media, having worked at Time Inc. for 17 years, holding management positions at Fortune and serving as publisher of Entertainment Weekly.
