Whenever a puck is dropped, boards banged, or empty nets scored on, USA Hockey is there. The group serves as the governing body for amateur hockey and works to promote the sport with more than 585,000 members (ice and in-line hockey players, coaches, and officials). An official representative to the United States Olympic Committee and the International Ice Hockey Federation, the organization supports development of hockey through its affiliation with more than 30 amateur leagues. It trains Olympians and works with the National Hockey League and the National Collegiate Athletic Association as well as publishing American Hockey Magazine.
