TRICARE Management Activity is a Department of Defense (DoD) agency tasked with administering TRICARE, the DoD's worldwide health care program for active-duty and retired military and their families. The military health care plan covers more than 9 million eligible beneficiaries. Its health and dental care plan options include TRICARE Prime, a managed care option; TRICARE Extra, a preferred-provider option; and TRICARE Standard, a fee-for-service option.
