The administration also issues Social Security numbers and administers the Supplemental Security Income Program from about 1,300 offices around the country with regional headquarters in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.
