Southern Regional Health System operates the Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC) in a southern suburb of Atlanta. With nearly 400 beds, this hospital offers patients cardiac monitoring, diagnostic imaging, occupational and speech rehabilitation, and an abundance of other services. Other facilities include the Women's Life Center (built in 2001), which provides women's and newborn healthcare, and RiverWoods, a psychiatric and substance-abuse treatment center. SRMC was established in 1971 to provide health care to residents of Clayton County and the surrounding areas. It became a member of the not-for-profit PROMINA Health System in 1996.
