Android Mobile Web Gains Accelerate

The latest Android smartphones are hot – three models, the HTC Incredible, Sprint Evo 4G (also by HTC) and most recently the Motorola Droid X have all gained rapid adoption. The chart below summarizes these recent models along with the benchmark for Android handsets, the original Motorola Droid.

Together, these new devices are helping Android in its march against Apple’s iOS mobile supremacy (recall that Quantcast does not count the iPad as a mobile device).

In the past month alone, Android has claimed another 2% of the mobile web consumption share – virtually all at the expense of Apple’s iOS.
