High Tech Computer (HTC) designs and manufactures mobile computing devices. Established in 1997, the world's largest manufacturer of smart phones is a hardware platform development partner with Microsoft for its Windows CE and Windows Mobile operating systems. Intel, QUALCOMM, Sony, and Texas Instruments are among HTC's strategic partners. Originally a contract electronics manufacturer, HTC has branched out into selling products under its own brand. In 2008 the company rolled out the first wireless phone, the HTC Dream, using the Android mobile software tools created by Google. The phone will be marketed worldwide as the T-Mobile G1 by wireless communications carrier T-Mobile International. [Description from Hoover's]
