Federal agency in charge of administrative and judicial enforcement of the federal civil rights laws, and providing compliance education and technical assistance. Find facts about employment discrimination, filing a charge, small business information, enforcement and litigation, and the use of ADR in employment disputes. [Description from dmoz]
Everyone should get a fair shake and the EEOC works to make it happen. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces Federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin or physical disability. The EEOC's jurisdiction encompasses discrimination issues for the Federal government (as an employer), for private employers, state and local agencies, and labor organizations. The EEOC reviews and processes charges of employment discrimination, filing discrimination suits on behalf of aggrieved employees. It also provides information and guidance to help employers create fair workplaces. [Description from Hoover's]
