It coordinates the Department of Education's international efforts that prepare American students to participate in a global workplace. Its more than 40 programs, including International Education Week, International Visitors Program, and the US Network for Education Information, have an annual budget of about $120 million. Areas of focus include special education, vocational education, migrant education, and educational technology. The office works with the United Nations, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Organization of American States, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
