Technology focused news site where the stories are chosen by community members rather than editors. [Description from dmoz]
Bringing democracy to the world of news? Can you digg it? Digg Inc. lets users submit and rate their favorite news stories online. The company's user-submitted news site Digg.com operates through the efforts of its community of users, who vote on what news, videos, images, and Podcasts of the day they think are important. The company was founded in 2004 by Kevin Rose, a former producer and host at TechTV (the precursor to G4 Media's G4 TV). Digg is led by Equinix founder Jay Adelson. Investors include Omidyar Network (led by eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar), Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen, and Greylock Management, among others. [Description from Hoover's]
