Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) has steadily grown to become the largest private, not-for-profit health care provider in the state of California. Sponsored by eight congregations of nuns, CHW operates a network of more than 40 acute care facilities located in the Golden State and, to a lesser extent, in Arizona and Nevada. Those facilities house more than 8,000 acute care beds, as well as nearly 1,000 skilled nursing beds.
